Having shelved Kilo trouble for a moment due to cvn trouble,(and thinking of making it a campaign mission) I started work on a new multi mission, but ended up with a game i would more like to call a Scenario of capaign mission..
IT is differant from a normal game in that now Communication between sides is formalised and now counts for the mission, the scenario can end in a variety of ways, and depending on the result of this first scenario, the next mission will be edited to represent the situation.
Players will have Fixed sides/ship during the campaign. although the exeption might be a Kilo commander getting a promotion for an akula..
how its played? signup is a bit more formal and the game is more restricted. (sorry folks who just want a shooting match.. this is not about how many people you can sink quick)
Each game there will be 1 observer (compare him with the Dunguon master of D&D) who will inform both sides seperately on situation, orders and objectives, ROE..
The observer (In this mission me, but i think grinler or Acht would like to do this as well) will not take sides in the battle or communication, but makes notes about communication and events, After the mission the observer judge Every captain on his actions and communications. He will also make a general statement how the outcome of the mission influenced the world. (WW3 STARTED! or.. maybe just a local incident...)
The next campaign mission will then continue in that situation, and with the people who played the first mission (And survived!) on their old ship and side.. (ofcourse some new ships migth enter the theater for other wanting to join)
Although I dont want to tell to much about the campaign yet, mission 1 will involve:
Chinese trawlers, The USNS Impeccable, OHP's in a hurry, and torpedo's. |

I appreciate your effort, Matt.
But I imagine that spending a couple of hours to closely watch a game of DW and taking notes without being directly involved is a demanding (boring) task - it may be difficult to find a devoted referee.
Good luck with the idea! |

i will be :)... and the games are shorter then the average friday game. this game can not take longer the na set time, (less then 2)
as its a race degenst clock, if clock runs out, one side has wonn, or other other wins... or both sides dont winn, either way it would influence the world.. |
