Hello.
In many cases we use easy-to-configure home wireless routers. Yes, it's nice to be able to use internet in every place of the house. In some cases people also use routers even to connect their desktop PCs - to avoid drilling and so on. Being behind routers makes you 'unreachable' unless you configure the device properly.
Requirements for this solution to work:
- your Internet Service Provide must provide you a external IP address
This short tutorial will allow you to:
- host and play Dangerous Waters game while using router
However all of these informations can be easily found on google I decided to create post which would finally straighten it up.
Solution:
I won't put here instructions for all kinds of devices. There are just too many of them, so I will try to make as easy as possible.
1. Log in to your router with your username and password (look into manual if you don't know how).
2. Get your IP assigned by router:
- START -> RUN
- cmd <enter>
- ipconfig
Note down your IP address.
3. Locate "Port Forwarding" section and enable it on port range 2300 - 2400 to your IP address on BOTH protocols (TCP/UDP).
That's all. Hope worked for you. |
